HIS WORK

Metal is forged by fire and shaped by hammering, likewise our life is formed by lived experiences which mould us into unique beings with an identity of our own.

We are creatures who can think, or at least think that  we can do so. Whether humans can reason or not, the truth is that each one of us carries around the scars collected along the journey of life.

These scars inevitably remind us of the past, help us live the present and eventually help us lay the basis for our future.

Human beings have an innate curiosity which makes us never satisfied beings, thus all the time searching and looking around for new inspiration and new experiences. As a consequence we experiment. Sometimes we succeed and other times we fail to achieve new goals, or goals which individuals or society set.

However our life is an ever evolving process, marked by exploration of past events and the ability to develop these into new experiences.

Through painting I am trying to get a visual trail of these experiences; mile stones in a life of a Man and elaborate on them, experiment; filtering the past in hope to create a better future.

In most cases my paintings or constructions need to be interpreted by the viewer in terms of symbolic references. A recurrent face, a colour, or a shape may be the key for the whole message behind the picture.

Most subjects in my paintings are so intimately related to me, that I am almost scared to reveal it to others. About most subjects no words have been spoken. Perhaps the silent experience of painting is the only medium through which I can express it.
